Yesterday marked the start of the 100 Day Project, if you aren’t sure what that is the idea is that you choose something creative to do for 100 days in a row and share it on social media. I’ve tried this before last summer but did not get very far, I think it’s because I just decided to paint and draw for 100 days with no theme or structure. This time around I decided I wanted to keep the idea/theme simple enough that I would be able to keep up the project while I am traveling during the next 100 days. So I decided to do a nature theme and use the hashtag #100daysofartandnature, mainly because I really want to strengthen my skills in landscapes and illustrations. This time around I plan on posting each day on the blog instead of Instagram, that way I don’t need to really worry about my feed, you creatives know what I’m talking about.
For day one I used gouache to create a simple lavender illustration, I used the lavender I had in my apartment as reference and created this after walking Luna. I haven’t really used gouache that much but I’m excited to experiment with it more as I continue the 100 day project.
Are you doing the 100 day project? I would love to know what you are doing and how I can follow along. Happy creating!
