On May 2nd I had quite the adventurous day in Reno that was filled with a couple events. First I went to Picasso and Wine with Clarissa again, but this time we went to the Midtown Location. I have to say I love this location way more as it was an old fashion house that was turned into this cute local business.
This location felt homier and the décor was so adorable and I loved their front outside area. This location was more welcoming and an almost artsy muse inspiring feel. This time I was able to have some mimosas and our boyfriends were able to take turns in dropping us off and picking us up. Both of us being public health majors we wanted to make sure if we were drinking that we had a safe method of transportation, thank you again Sean and Cameron! Let me tell you those mimosas though were probably the best ones I have ever had and man were they loaded. I won’t share how many I had however, it was nice as they had it set up as a bar with different types of juices (0range, Peach, and Cranberry) and then you could choose to add either strawberries or blueberries to them as well or no fruit at all. I decided to go with just classic orange juice and both blueberries and strawberries. Definitely hit the spot.
This painting was a cute pink cupcake, which I was super excited about because I’m absolutely obsessed with cupcakes. They are one of my favorite foods, not desserts, FOODS! And cupcakes are just adorable, I might be super obsessed as my mom used to make them all the time and made them a lot when we were in a rental house after the fire so they served as a form of comfort for us I guess. Anyways cupcakes are debatably one of the best things ever and I am very pleased with how my painting turned out!
After we were finished painting, Clarissa and I had Sean take some cute pictures of us when he picked us up. Then we proceeded to go to the River District in Reno to participate in Dine the District. Dine the District is basically a food tour of the River District of Reno, aka downtown, where a ton of bars and restaurants are. I believe this was the first time Reno did this event and I was super excited, as I have wanted to do a food tour for a long time now. Sean and I were debating on doing a pizza food tour when we went to New York last August where it was a four hour event of going to the best and most popular pizza places in New York, we decided not to do it though as we did not have the time. Definitely doing that on our next visit.
Anyways it was a pretty cool experience; most of the food was little samples. I believe this was cause there were seventeen locations to go to. We almost made it to all of them but it was insanely hot outside and Sean and I had a get together at a friend’s house we needed to go to. It was an insanely busy day.
My favorite location of the food tour was Bumblebee Blooms Flower Boutique. They had absolutely delicious chocolate truffles for their sample. I got a cappuccino one. I took a picture of all the truffles they have for sale and man did they look very tempting. They also had dip and pretzels out and the lemon dill flavored dip won my affections.
Overall it was a very insanely crazy long day but I had a blast. It was a nice break from the stressful week I had prior and I got to experience some events in Reno with my friends. I hopefully plan to have a few more days like this where I actually go out and experience what Reno has to offer before I graduate on the 15th as my chaotic schedule of school, work, and internship takes up a majority of my free time. I hope you enjoyed reading my little post about my day adventure in Reno and definitely check out these events if you are ever in Reno!
