Finally bringing you another beauty related post here on “Allie Explores.” It feels like it has been forever, but Charlotte Tilbury came out with a new lipstick line and I just had to give you guys a report. “Hot Lips” is the name of Charlotte Tilbury’s new lipstick line where the shades are named and were created after celebrities and let me tell you, these lipsticks don’t disappoint.
Now it’s no secret that I’m obsessed with Charlotte Tilbury’s products; I wrote a post last summer when I first got to try their products and I’ve mentioned it on here a few more times. I love LOVE her cream eyeshades, they are in my everyday make up routine. It’s definitely not new news that I love her lipsticks, in fact I recently wrote a post about her shade in “Stoned Rose” being my go to lipstick and for the most part it is, but I have to say the two new shades I got from the Hot Lips collection are right there with it.
As always with Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks the formulation is the best. It’s matte without feeling insanely dry, and yet, it stays in place. It also gives you enough time to correct in case you might have overlined your lips like I tend to do with red lipstick. Anyone else have super thin almost nonexistent lips that know what I’m talking about?
I purchased the shades “Super Cindy” and “Tell Laura,” named after the models Cindy Crawford and Laura Bailey. “Super Cindy” is a really great nude/every day shade for me, it’s in between a pink and brown shade and quite honestly, it’s the perfect combination of the two for my complexion. Nude or pink lipsticks don’t generally look that great on me, but I’ve only found one true shade of pink that goes well with my complexion. Which I find frustrating since I’m more of a fan of the simple makeup look and happens to be my go to. So needless to say, I really love the shade of Super Cindy. And I mean who wouldn’t want to channel their inner Cindy Crawford?
“Tell Laura” is the perfect red orange shade! I have the “1975” shade by Charlotte Tilbury, which leans more towards the orange side of things, but “Tell Laura” is a great balance of both shades. I found when I switched this on my hand, I immediately knew I was going to have to purchase it. It looks so gorgeous with my complexion, it would look even better if I had a tan however, this summer I have yet to swim or go to the beach so my skin hasn’t had a whole lot of time in the sun. Oh well, I still love how it looks and you bet I will be wearing it any chance I get!
Now after trying a lot of Charlotte Tilbury products I am convinced she can do no wrong. I have yet to try any face makeup, I’m considering trying out a blush next. Let me know if you love Charlotte Tilbury products as much as I do and what celebrity you would like to have a lipstick shade named after.
