So I might be slightly makeup obsessed. I’m a VIB Rouge member at Sephora, which means I spend way to much money there per year for my own good. But I find I can always find a makeup item I want to try rather than clothes these days. For some reason I haven’t been impressed with the selection lately, it might just be because I find I’m never into the summer season trends, so you could say I’m really excited because fall fashion is starting to make it’s ways into stores. OK, tangent aside, I really prefer very natural makeup looks and unfortunately I’m the total opposite of a morning person, meaning I go a lot of days without wearing makeup. That being said, I have found that cream eye shadows are not only my go to product but also my life saver.
Cream eye shadows are the definite lazy girl’s product, mainly because it’s so easy to apply and easy to either sheer out the product for a natural look, but also to build it up for a night time look. I tend to go for gold or neutral like colors. I have two golds and one brown. With the three shadows I have, two are from Charlotte Tilbury and one is from Chanel. I have to say that I think Charlotte Tilbury’s cream eye shadows are my favorite; the longevity, color pay off, and formula of the product just out beats Chanel. Not saying I don’t like Chanel’s cream eye shadow (Mirage is a gorgeous color) but I find that the Charlotte Tilbury lasts longer on my eyelids.
Out of the three colors I have I think Bette, the golden color on the far right, is my favorite. I have a weakness for gold eye shadows; I have two palettes made up of gold/champagne colors plus other single shadows. Oops what can I say? I know what I like! The eye shadow in the middle is Chanel’s Mirage and the far left is Charlotte Tilbury’s Mona Lisa. I definitely want to add Tom Ford’s cream eye shadow in the shade Spice next, it’s a gorgeous mix between gold and brown, so you know it has my name all over it.
Cream eye shadow has been the only eye shadow I’ve been wearing lately. I just find the colors are nice and gives me the look I’m going for with minimum hassle. Sure it’s only one shade but I’m really into the simple “I barely put any makeup on” look. Let me know what your go to makeup products are and if you are a fan of lazy makeup hacks, I would love to know what they are in the comments.
