On April 12th my roommate Clarissa and I went to participate in a painting activity called Picasso and Wine where you sit and are guided through a painting and could enjoy an alcoholic beverage. The painting that we made was Monet’s Starry Night inspired sunflower. I was super excited about this as Starry Night is my favorite painting of all time and Sun Flowers are oneof my favorite flowers, but anyways this was a win-win for me. Honestly this time around I didn’t have an alcoholic beverage cause I had to drive but it was an awesome experience without having a mimosa.
The teacher told us to turn off the perfectionist in us, which not going to lie was a bit difficult as I’m only really a perfectionist when it comes to crafts and projects like this, but eventually I was able to do it and fully relax and just enjoy the music and paint my heart out.
Overall I was very happy with my painting, it turned out great and I had a blast just painting and catching up with my roommate as our jobs and school work have been making both of our schedules absolute chaos.
We happen to be going again before I graduate and this time the painting is going to be a cupcake! And for those of you who don’t know me, IM ABSOLUTELY OBSESSED WITH CUPCAKES, so I’m just as excited if not more for this Picasso and wine session. Also we plan on having our boyfriends drop us off and pick us up so I’ll be fully able to enjoy either a mimosa or glass of wine while I paint my cupcake.
Honestly, I really wish I discovered this last semester so I could participate in more. Eventually I’ll probably be able to fill an entire house with these paintings as this is something I can totally do asa hobby or for fun activity with friends. Even though I’m moving to California after I graduate I’ll still be able to do this as they have a Cabernet and Canvas in downtown Walnut Creek, which is basically the same thing.
