Saturday was the first day that I missed creating my entry for my #100daysofartandnature, trust me I wasn’t happy about it and as the rest of the day wasn’t great. I woke up this yesterday, bummed with the results and outcome of my art show and the fact I missed a day for an art show that took all of my time and energy, but also ended in a negative experience. I was deciding whether or not I would just do two entries in a day and continue but I came to the conclusion that I didn’t want continue. Why? Because to be honest I’m creatively fatigued. Juggling prepping for an art show after creating my 100 day project all after I get home around 5:30 from work was BRUTAL for the past two weeks. I’m exhausted and I have had a lot of new ideas recently for my art and the blog that I’m really excited about that I would rather put my time and energy into.
So since I decided not to continue with the project, I figured I would share with you some of my favorites:
04/12/17: This piece was the first one I created that I was inspired by the nature around me! I decided while walking to my car on my way to work that I would paint the trees later that afternoon. The green was so vibrant it caught my eye immediately.
04/16/17: This piece is inspired by my parents back yard. I love how it turned out, it looks like an illustration out of the childhood Madeline books! I adored those books as a kid and I still love the style of their illustrations. I created it on Easter, in a rush as my relatives were arriving for brunch at my parents but it still turned out great.
04/18/17: This is by far one of my favorite favorites, can you tell I have a difficult time just picking one favorite? But I love this one a lot because it’s my first step towards illustrating puppies, which is something that I really want to do because who doesn’t love puppies? Also I’m your typical crazy dog mom. Anyways I was really happy with how this turned out!
04/24/17: This piece was inspired by a photo I took while in Portland, I love how the blending of greens turned out. Not bad for an artist who would say landscapes and realistic art is her weakness.
04/25/17: This was also inspired by another photo I took in Portland. It was easy to be inspired by my Portland trip, everything is so green and vibrant there because of all the rain they get.
04/29/17: This is another one of my favorite favorites. It actually was my first idea that inspired me to even start the project in the first place. I really wanted to create more comic themed art around the idea of global warming but I have to say it was not easy thinking of multiple ideas are that theme.
05/05/17: Lastly, my last entry and another comic relating to global warming. I adore this piece, I really gave it a comic flare with adding the, “Meanwhile in the atmosphere…” in the top right corner.
There you have it, my favorites from the project! If you were following along I would love to know what some of your favorites were! Stay tuned for more blog content and more art featured on my Instagram. Oh before I forget, did you see that I created Luna her own Instagram? I’m having way too much fun with it, go follow her here.
