This past Saturday we took Luna back to Fort Funston for her first Bay Area Aussie meet-up, so naturally I brought the camera to document the process. Luna did pretty well, recently we have really put a conscious effort into socializing her in order for her to play and be comfortable with dogs of all sizes and honestly, it has paid off. Now at our apartment’s dog play area, she plays with almost all the dogs there, she’s becoming more confident around larger dogs so we were really excited to take her to her first meet-up. Overall I think it was a success, Luna was a bit shy mainly because that was the most dogs and people she’s been around at one time and place but she didn’t run off. I definitely think next time she will play more.
Luna: I enjoyed the the meet-up, I was a little shy because it seemed like all the pups knew each other but I still enjoyed my time at the beach since it’s my favorite place to be. I made a few friends, Remi was nice and initiated playing with me for a little and then I explored a really big branch with Dug. I got a lot of frisbee playing time in and I found out that my new favorite thing is digging up sand! WHO KNEW IT WOULD BE MORE FUN THAN DIGGING ON A COUCH?!? I’m already ready to go back to the beach mom, there’s no better feeling than sand in my fur. I also meet a pup Biscuit that goes to the same doggy day care as I do so I’m sure by the next meet-up we will be furfriends.
The photos turned out ok, not as great as our first trip to Fort Funston mainly because the fog was thicker this time around. I had my camera on manual in order to set the shutter speed all the way up to capture great photos of running dogs but I realize now that I probably should have adjusted the aperture too but ya know I’m still a beginner when it comes to photography. Needless to say Sean, Luna, and I really enjoyed it and will definitely be back for the August meet-up.
