So finally after multiple conversations between Sean and I, we got a pet. Now it might not be what you usually think in terms of a pet but yes, that’s right meet, Louie our pet hydrangea plant. Yep you read that right, pet hydrangea plant. I mean plants are technically living things too so I would call it a pet and I mean hey it’s responsibility to make sure that the plant lives and thrives.
I’m really excited to have Louie because hydrangeas are by far my favorite flowers. I mean I’ve never seen a hydrangea that I didn’t find gorgeous, the blue ones are my favorite but they also come in white, pink, and purple.
Growing up there were always flowers in the house and my family cared about keeping up the yard. My mom loved having flowers in the house on the kitchen table and when we moved into the house they live in now we acquired numerous rose bushes that they loved seeing bloom. My grandma also has quite the rose bush collection in her backyard as well. I know my grandpa George really loved gardening and now grows his own vegetables, so you could say that I grew up in a family with a green thumb. So now it’s my turn to develop my own green thumb and passion for plants.
Who knows, Louie could bring wonders for inspiration. I would love to paint hydrangeas or flowers in general but I’ve found that they are incredibly difficult to paint. But I’m really considering taking an online painting class for flowers so that would solve that problem. So hopefully stay tuned for sunflower and hydrangea flower paintings coming your way on Allie Crafts Art! Did you like this post? I know it’s not my usual thing, especially since I’ve been really into writing about artsy type things, but I’m thinking about starting an email newsletter soon, so if you did definitely make sure you subscribe below! Let me know in the comments if you thought of a plant as a pet too.
