Hi everyone! Can you believe today is the last day of February? Where did the month go? Although I’m not complaining, I’ve got some pretty exciting plans for March. March will be quite the busy month but it will be great to say the least. Anyways I thought I would do something different here on the blog that many other bloggers do and share what they got up to this month. I love this idea because even though I blog about what I do in my free time, I don’t share everything or go into all the details. Let me know if you like this type of post and I’ll continue to do them. Although can’t promise I’ll do one next month because I’m taking a trip up to Portland towards the end of it and may or may not give vlogging a go!
OK let’s see what happened this month…. obviously you know the major thing that happened: I RELAUNCHED WOO! Yep relaunching the blog took majority of my free time this month. I had to give painting a break, which I’m kinda bummed about but that’s OK because I ended up going to Canvas and Cabernet yesterday with my old college roommate Alex. We painted my favorite painting of all time: “Monet’s garden.” I was pretty excited not only to paint this gorgeous master piece, but just to finally pick up a paintbrush again.
So what else happened this month? Well besides the usual daily activity of going to work… Valentine’s day weekend was filled with plans…well kinda… Friday night Sean and I saw “Deadpool” when it came out. He was so excited and it was everything he hoped it to be. I think it was well done, but I can only do so much raunchy humor. I mean I really liked it and all, how it made fun of superhero movies and the fact that Ryan Reynolds isn’t much of a superhero. I mean it was no “Guardians of the Galaxy” or “Days of Future Past” for me, which are my favorite super hero movies thus far. Then on Valentines’ day we took a cooking class at Sur La Table and then had an amazing dinner at Il Fornaio. Sean and I actually cooked dinner for my parents last Friday night with the recipes we learned on Valentine’s day. We made spaghetti alla carbonara and this delicious pudding made with espresso powder and vanilla bean paste. Literally the whole thing was “heart eyed emoji” worth. I also snapchatted it… something I’ve been trying to do more of. Let me know if you would be interested in me using Snapchat more often. I’m slowly working on it so I would be interested to know if you would want to follow me or not. Let me know! If you want it I’ll snap more.
I started getting serious about getting back into exercising this month. There will be a blog post about that and my focus on self care coming… ahem Friday. But any who, yes I started going back to yoga and I tried my first barre class which can be summed up as reality slapping me in the face and screaming at me that I am wayyy more out of shape than I thought… but I liked it. I forgot how much I loved vigorously exercising (more about why I had to stop for a bit on Friday). So now I’m trying to get in a routine of one barre class and two yoga classes a week while also trying to reach 10,000 steps as often as I can. Hopefully I can start getting back to my old level of fitness.
As always, #CreativeCoffeeHour inspired me every week. Especially on Monday the 22nd when we talked about community and the amazing master of community herself, Kayla Hollatz cohosted this chat…. Everyone literally was absolutely nailing it in their input. I left the discussion buzzing like no other and determined to really work on and improve the community around this blog. I made some headway towards that by now implementing Disqus to comment, which means you will receive an email when I comment back now, because I like to respond to comments. I also finally made a Facebook page! I’ll….just, you know, I’ll just leave the link here, no shame in telling you to go check it out. I mean if I don’t even mention it you could never know it might be the most awesome place on the internet… OK it’s not, but the potential is there folks! Potential is there! HA!
I hope you guys had a great month! February is a strange time and personally, I don’t really like it. It has the potential to be great or really bad (basically like every month), but by that I mean everyone is buzzing with new great things they want to do in January (almost over ambitious *cough* HI that was me) and then February begins to feel like a cluster where then nothing gets done, right? Or at least you get one thing done you planned, like I did, but it’s not as satisfying because it’s not everything! Am I right? That’s OK, let’s make March our month people! Let me know what you got up to this month in the comments!
