I can’t believe it has been six months since I created my blog. In reality I would say I have only been seriously blogging (and by that I mean posting twice a week) since July. I have definitely learned a lot and my blog has grown tremendously since I created Little Random Discoveries in March however, I still have a ways to go to get my blog to what I have imagined for it. There is also so much more for me to learn and master as well, bring on the challenge!
I’ve loved having my blog as a creative hobby. I am so glad Sean continuously encouraged me to do it. I was really hesitant and nervous to do a blog, mainly because it was putting myself and my work out there on the internet for anyone to come along and see. It freaked me out a bit but I finally decided to go for it after a long time of going back and fourth. The main reason for me wanting to create the blog besides having a creative outlet was that I wanted to be able to share my creative ideas with people besides my boyfriend and mom. Little Random Discoveries has allowed me to do that.
I do however, only have this blog as a creative hobby since I have a full time job in an unrelated field. This has made my growth and improvement slower than I would have liked, did I mention I have little to no patience? Yeah so that part has been a challenge because I am eager to learn more about web design and blogging and want to be able to see improvement. But that is ok because I know that once I finally get to where I want my blog to be and soak up all the knowledge I can about blogging, it will be so rewarding. Although I feel like with a blog you will be constantly learning. Whether it is something new in the field or something another blogger has shared and I actually really like that part of blogging. It has been very satisfying to come home from work to be able to work on something I had set in my mind for the blog that could range from working on my next post to something on my blog’s web layout. I found that my blog as a creative hobby has really helped me with the transition from college to responsible adulthood. It has been rough to say the least, well, more than I expected. I encourage everyone to have a hobby of some kind, it really does create a positive lifestyle. I haven’t had a hobby since high school when I would have dance practice every day because most of my time in college was spent studying and working, so I forgot how nice it is to have something like that. It really can change your quality of life.
I have a to do list of what I want to accomplish in the near future with my blog and I plan to do another reflection when my blog turns one year old. I think it will be interesting to see what I have been able to do in the next six months. And of course, lastly, I would like to thank everyone who has taken the time to stop by or read my blog, it means the world to me. You guys are awesome!
