It wasn’t until I purchased two pairs of Steve Madden shoes in the month of September that I realized how many actual Steve Madden shoes I own. I mean he is my go-to brand for shoes; I always look there first because I really like his style and they generally fit great. But after these last two purchases, I said to myself “man I have quite the selection of Steve Madden shoes and that this would be a great blog post idea.” So I would like to introduce you to my Steve Madden shoes. Probably before the end of the year I will do a post dedicated to my entire shoe collection 😉
One thing I want to say that is amazing about the brand Steve Madden is that they have the same sizing throughout every type of shoe they offer. I am usually an 8.5 in shoes assuming they don’t run small or large. However, lately I have noticed that I fit a different size in anything when between brands and have realized how important it is to really try everything on before you purchase as I have clothes that range small, medium, and large between different brands. But not with Steve Madden. I am an 8.5 in his boots, sandals, heels, and tennis shoes! This is a brand I would feel comfortable ordering online because I know their sizing is consistent.
I have five pairs of shoes from Steve Madden. The two I purchased in September are a pair of tennis shoes and booties. They both are a suede material (I love been loving all things suede lately!) and I’m completely obsessed with them. I haven’t worn the booties in public yet cause it has been too hot here in the Bay Area, but I have been wearing the tennis shoes frequently. So rambling aside here are my thoughts and feels for my Steve Madden shoes below, enjoy!
Boots: I bought these boots about two years ago. I’ll be honest I don’t wear them that often, probably should have gotten them in black as I don’t wear a lot of brown. That’s probably why I don’t wear them that often, but it’s also cause they don’t fit well with thick socks and with the wintertime in Reno you had to wear thick socks to stay warm. Since I’ve moved back home, I’m hoping I’ll get more use out of these in the coming fall and winter.
Booties: I am obsessed with these shoes. They were meant for me. I saw these booties last year and never ended up buying them. The gold detailing in the back is what drew me in. It wasn’t until I finally saw them up close that I realized they were suede, which finally sold me on them. I just can’t wait for it to get cooler so I can start wearing these all the time. I have ALL THE FEELS for these shoes.
Tennis shoes: As discovered via Nordstrom, I had these in my wishlist on my Nordstrom app for about three months until I decided to get them. I wanted a pair of slip on tennis shoes as I only have Nikes and felt like they don’t always go with a stylish outfit. Since slip-ons seem to be making a come back I opted for these as I liked how it was able to put tan and black together pretty nicely and are still stylish enough to make a cute outfit but have more support than ballet flats.
Sandals: These sandals have been featured on my blog before. I bought these shoes as soon as I came home after graduating. I was eyeing them on my Nordstrom app for months so when I finally saw them in person I caved. I was in need of a new pair of sandals anyways, I had to retire my black bow sandals as I had them for 6 years and they were beginning to hurt my feet. So glad I bought these ones. I think I was drawn to them because I had a similar pair when I was a child.
Heels: These are my first and only pair of nude heels. I actually bought these in Manhattan when I went last year with Sean. We were shopping in Soho and went into the Steve Madden store. Saw them and instantly tried them on. I decided to buy them and was so excited because I thought it would be genius to wear them to see Aladdin later that night. WORST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE. Seriously some of the worst pain I have ever been in. My reasoning was “well if Sarah Jessica Parker can walk around Manhattan in high heels higher than mine than so can I!” Oh no, let me tell ya, I couldn’t. I admire you SJP because dear lord my feet were destroyed after that night. Also the heel of them slid into a manhole and scratched the leather. I WAS FURIOUS! Sean felt so bad I was crying when we got back to the hotel due to just pain. I was so much in pain I couldn’t feel angry. Thankfully he found a website that had a DIY way to fix the shoes. Anyways you can bet after that those shoes are definitely broken in now. I thought my readers would appreciate that wonderful story.
See, besides just looking at shoes you learned a valuable lesson here, don’t be dumb like I was and think you can be like SJP and break in a new pair of heels in Manhattan. Anyways I hoped you enjoyed reading this post with a look into part of my shoe collection. I apologize that there wasn’t a post last Friday. Life threw another curve ball at me and I just didn’t have enough time to put together a post. I could have rushed together one but it didn’t feel right. Thanks again for reading my blog, I appreciate it very much.
