For as long as I can remember Chanel beauty products have been in my life. My mom has been a huge fan of Chanel and their products before I was born, so I always remember seeing plenty of products in the beautiful packaging with the gold details on her bathroom counter. So I guess you could say it was fate, destiny, or I was doomed to become a Chanel girl too. I mean I prefer saying it was fate!
Last summer I tried Chanel’s nail polishes for the first time and found they were the best for me. They lasted the longest out of all the brands I tried; like a whole seven days before it finally chipped people! This was interesting considering a major complaint of this brand of nail polish is that it chips quickly. Not for me, but maybe it’s in the prep or maybe it’s just my nails, either way it will forever be a mystery. On top of that, they were the only nail polishes where the fumes didn’t give me a major headache, making this an insta-win in my book especially since I’m so bummed that I can no longer use the massive collection of Deborah Lippman nail polishes I have for this very reason.
Recently, Chanel has reformulated and relaunched their nail polishes to be a special gel formula. I’m guessing the complaints of the longevity for most people with this product became popular belief and Chanel responded. When they first came out I had my eyes on the shade Organdi which was this beautiful nude, muted pink shade. At the time, I was saving for my Portland trip and figured I could wait a bit until purchasing. Well I was wrong, Estee LaLonde and Ingrid Nilsen both included this shade in their favorites video and next thing I knew it was sold out at every store I went to in my area including online at Nordstrom. So I decided to purchase it online at Neiman Marcus because I was determined to get this shade, plus I always enjoy receiving online orders at work, who wouldn’t?
Of course I’m sure you knew the answer but I still love Chanel’s nail polishes since they still last long on my nails and have a lovely color pay off (granted they did that for me with the old formula) so I’m pretty convinced that Chanel can do no wrong. They released some of their most popular shades in the new formula, Ballet Shoe (a very sheer pink) and Pirate (a classic red). I’m honesty surprised my mom hasn’t purchased Ballet Shoe yet since that’s her all time favorite shade, I’m sure it’s only a matter of time.
I highly recommend giving these newly formulated nail polishes a try, especially if you were annoyed with the old formula. I think you’ll find that they last longer and the overall feel and consistently of the polish during application really feels similar to a gel. I know for a fact I will be adding more of these to my collection soon. Let me know if you’ve tried the newly formulated Chanel polishes and what your thoughts are in the comments.
