Hi everyone! Man I am so excited to finally have my new blog up and running. If you are new here, this is not my first blog, my first blog was called “Little Random Discoveries” that I started last year. As of 2016, I wanted my theme of the year to be “evolve,” in regards to both my life and my blog. When I started blogging last year I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted to write about. I just wanted to be able to write about whatever I felt like because I have a pretty wide and random range of interests, but that made my brand a really really really random lifestyle brand. Mid-way through January an idea just hit me; it was after one of my favorite twitter chats #CreativeCoffeeHour where I decided I wanted to completely rebrand my blog and with that, establish a new design. I found that my most inspired content was around traveling (I went to New York last November and I was absolutely buzzing and inspired when I got back, which naturally was reflected in my blog content), but I also started painting at home instead of the occasional paint and sip class which led to another self discovery: I really enjoyed blogging about creativity. Then I found that I got pretty good at beauty reviews, I mean that makes sense, I spend way WAY too much money on makeup but I am completely OK with that. Then the wheels started turning and all my ideas started coming together.
So I bring to you “Allie Explores…” a blog where I explore through plenty of adventures and as well as explore my creative and artsy interests. Not only do I love this name ten times better, but I also really like how I’ve narrowed this topic down to focus on the things I love the most: traveling, trying new creative hobbies, and creativity in general which included fashion and beauty as a subcategory of this. If you look at the menu you will notice another category that is “everyday life.” These are posts from the past and will include posts that fit into my new branding, but I wouldn’t necessary put them under the previous categories listed, for example, one of pieces I wrote last fall that I am most proud of, “Why It Is Ok To Feel Lost In Your 20’s” isn’t travel, art, beauty, fashion, or centered on creativity. I have a post coming up in a couple weeks about self care, that will also be under everyday life.
I’m very excited for the content I have planned to share with you on the blog. I have a lot of things I am doing in March, including a trip up to Portland to visit my sister for her birthday and I’ll be meeting one of my blogging besties IRL, which means there will be lots of adventure themed posts coming your way soon along with some cool adventures in the Bay Area before that too. Anywho, I hope you are excited and pleased with this relaunch of my blog as I am. I’m literally too excited but I’m elated that all my ideas are coming together.
