Now if any of you reading this post now have read my post last Friday, you are probably wondering where is the macaron post!… Well let me tell you a little story. I made rose petal macarons with my mom Saturday and I even snap chatted it! I was so excited, I knew the technique because I took a class at Sur La Table before but for some reason when I added the rose extract to the batter it fizzled and completely changed the consistency! So my mom and I decided we could possibly retry to make the macarons Sunday morning, but then I couldn’t find the eggs…. So it looks like I owe you guys a rose petal macaron post at a later date.
Now that I have updated you guys on that part, on to what this post will actually be about, what I wore to my Valentine’s Day dinner! I loved my outfit; I finally got to wear my black lace trousers I bought after Christmas for the first time. Let me tell you, I love these trousers. I knew I needed a pair so that if I needed to dress up for an occasion and didn’t really have a dress that suited the event, I needed some fancy pants. Truthfully, I originally didn’t like the idea of trousers as I had never worn them before and I just felt like I wouldn’t be able to pull them off. Then I spotted this black lace pair from JCrew and I knew that I had to have them. The lace adds the femininity I wanted that I feel lacks in normal trousers.
So I paired these trousers with a red blouse I also got at JCrew along with these polka-dot high heels from Kate Spade that I got on sale for an amazing deal!!! I loved the entire outfit and will soon be wearing it again when the occasion calls for it. It’s fancy without looking like you are way too formal for the occasion. I think it is a great looking outfit that shows you have fashion taste while sustaining a tiny causal vibe and remaining comfy. Very important to me because I love getting dressed up but don’t like being the complete center of attention (well I do like it when people acknowledge that I can dress pretty nicely but that is beside the point) and if it happens to be comfy it’s extra points in my book.
My boyfriend and I went out to my favorite place to have a nice fancy dinner, Il Fornaio, Italian naturally as that is both Sean and I’s favorite. Early that day, we took an Italian cooking class at Sur La Table which was nice because Sean and I are always looking for new recipes to learn and it was something different from our usual dates. Overall it was a wonderful Valentine’s Day. I hope you guys had a lovely weekend and enjoyed this post. I’m trying to slowly ease into getting comfortable taking photos of just myself since fashion is something I genuinely enjoy. Bare with me people, but don’t worry; I’m determined and you will see more outfit posts on the blog soon.
